It’s not Halo, but damn it’s cool! Skycars

News on the ‘net is that flying cars will be available as early as next year – – and you won’t need a pilot’s license!

Developed by Dr. Paul Moller, these flying cars will hold the pilot and one to three passengers, flying at low altitudes for short distances and will even able to drive down the road at up to 30 mph.

Classified as Light Sports Aviation, which requires a pilot’s certificate much like a driver’s license, the flying vehicles are currently being developed as the jet-type vehicles shown left and the flying-saucer type vehicles shown in the image below.

With backing upwards of 80 million dollars from Athena Technologies and more capital promised from sources in China to build an aircraft production plant, looks like Mollar’s dream and that of people everywhere may soon be coming to a reality.

No word on what one of these puppies are going to cost, but the crafts will be built in Seattle and buyers are already lining up to get their hands on the first Skycars mass produced for the general public.

The future is now, folks. The future is now.
