It’s not Halo, but damn it’s cool! Precession of the Equinox 2012

So for those who don’t know, November 22nd 2012 isn’t just “the end of the world” because the Myan Calendar stops there, it’s also significant because in the Precession of the Equinox the earth and sun come into alignment with the galactic plane, Galactic Alignment, which only happens every 26,000+ years.

Wha?

Here’s a short vid to explain:

In an interesting mix of science and belief, many think mankind will experience a new awakening in consciousness when this occurs. Or that devastating events will occur and life as we know it will end. Or both. There are actually people out there who are blowing all their money and maxing out credit cards because the world is going to end anyway. There are also people preying on those believers, gathering that cash for services such as taking care of their animals if they are Taken in a Rapture.

I’ve been told that scientists have drilled down in the Antarctic and taken samples from the last time this happened, and that they found plants that had been flash-frozen. But when has Mother Nature ever worked on a schedule? Well, other than Old Faithful

Me, I’ll probably check the news a little more often that day, probably try to see if I notice the galaxy peeking out from behind the sun. But I haven’t stocked up on any food, and even flaked out on picking up that H2O filtration water bottle I put on my to-do list. I have a feeling if all hell breaks loose I’m not going to be staying in one place. But I don’t look worried: I can eat bugs if I have to. Can you?
