343 Industries: Halo 4 Spartan Ops campaign longer than Halo ODST

343 Industries says that its Halo 4: Spartan Ops episodic multiplayer campaign is longer than the entirety of Halo: ODST. Each of Spartan Ops’s ten weekly episodes will contain five co-op missions, each clocking in at 10 to 15 minutes in length. In addition to Spartan Ops, Halo 4 will have a lengthy competitive multiplayer campaign. Both Spartan Ops and the competitive multiplayer were developed by wholly separate teams.

This information was revealed by 343 Industries developers posting to the gaming forum NeoGAF, in response to concerns about the game’s length. Stinkles is Halo franchise director Frank O’Connor, and lybertyboy is Spartan Ops designer David Ellis. Halo ODST, the second-to-last Halo title released by original Halo developer Bungie, was criticized in the wake of its initial release for having a singleplayer campaign that was only a few hours long.
