Vehicles are very underrated in this gametype. It’s next to impossible for me to get a gunner in Dominion. However, I see an extremely effective strategy using vehicles in this gametype on most of the maps. It won’t “pad your stats”, but it can effect a win.
Take Exile, for example. Let’s say your team has already acquired “A” and “B”. Now imagine all the enemy is going to be spawning in “C” and the surrounding area. Keeping your ‘Hogs and Ghosts as a distance, to better ensure their survival and not push them to spawn elsewhere, weaken and kill off any enemy that attempts to cross the open fields towards “B”.
Six players. One at Banshee spawn, gives intel and crossmap fire from that position, one at Tank cave, providing the same. Two on a hog, killing any who try to get out of “C”, listening to callouts to determine where they are needed (Hangar side or Tank side), weakening shields so anyone who gets by is easily dispatched by Tank guy or Hangar guy. One guy on top of “campsite” (area in between Hangar and “B”, see overhead http://forums.halodiehards.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=179) And one at the bottom of “B” ramp, on “C” side.
Sick, sick setup! It’s been in my mind forever and is one of the things I want to get on vid and up on YouTube as a viable strat.
