BR is about as effective as the H3 BR, and this one’s hitscan. Too much spread. I wouldn’t mind if they turned it into a 4sk to provide some balance with the DMR. If not, then put it in ordnance drops or put them on the map for pickup. Every game, espicially BTB, are long range DMR ping fests, just like Reach.

The core gameplay (movement, jumping, strafing, gunplay, grenades) is much more Halo than Reach ever was. There’s just so much bullshit layered on top that it’s easy to forget you’re playing Halo. How many 1-shot weapons are available in every game? It’s odd because there were always weapons in the sandbox of past Halos that were rarely used, now you see all of them in every game.

The fixes that can be made to gametypes in order to make this a great Halo game are really simple, but I’m not sure they will ever be implemented in MM. Those changes would be tantamount to 343 admitting that they screwed up. Afterall, the Infinity ordnance system seems to be one of the pillars of the multiplayer experience.

I’ve never played a CoD game, but from what I understand, they are all basically the same. There are so many more people playing those games than there are Halo, yet the CoD formula hasn’t changed. I’m not sure why, beginning with Bungie and Reach (arguably Halo 3), Halo has to change. It was perfectly fine the way it was. And with the mass exodus of Halo folks beginning with Reach, you would think they would have taken notice of that. Old school Halo folk are what keeps the franchise afloat, and we’re being further alienated one release at a time. At least that’s how I feel.

I am about at the point of dismissing all things Matchmaking for myself !!

Echoing what others (including myself) have said…. I just dont have fun in match making….period….. win or lose, does not matter !

I just dont feel like typing out all my thoughts on this…. but unless we/I find some way to get a group of like minded people together, and create our own gaming universe (in private, custom games) my days of grinding out Matchmaking nights are certainly numbered (a very low number at that!)
