I saw this on the ‘net so it must be true? Supposedly these are real photos of places around the Earth, from an article titled, “A look at the landscapes dreams are made of”
Rugged mountains, arid plains and sylvan glades are lovely, but familiar examples of nature’s splendor. But there are eerily beautiful places around the globe that defy such simple categorization. Here in the Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park in Gansu Province, China, the startling coloration in the rocks is the result of 24 million years worth of red sandstone and mineral deposits. This brilliant ‘layer cake’ was then buckled by the same tectonic plates responsible for parts of the Himalayan mountains. Wind and rain carved the the result into this otherworldly landscape.
Tunnel of Love: This long, leafy tunnel looks like a portal to another world. Located near the town of Kleven, Ukraine, it actually provides passage for a private train that carries wood to a local factory. Measuring 1.8 miles long, it’s a popular spot for lovers’ trysts.
