The graphics are absolutely amazing on the Xbox One, I’ll give it that. The lighting effects – – never seen anything like it. The little ghost dude will fly around in dark spaces and the objects in a room will light up because of him, and it’s really, really well done.
That being said…
Gawd, I feel like such a bitch lately, nag nag nag, nothing positive to say! Halo sucks, this sucks, that sucks! lol. But yeah, not digging Destiny. And here’s why:
Only being able to party up with three people sucks. First off, it’s really hard to find out who is already partied up, and when you can only party up with three people, all of a sudden you have a ton of tiny parties instead of a few to check. Now, I did notice this little arrow thing, that I guess lets you know if you can join? Not sure about that, but it still doesn’t negate the former sentence.
Secondly, I do not like PvE. Wait, what is PvE? I don’t know, I’m just copying Darth, and I know it’s not PvP, lol. But I don’t like it. If I liked it, I would’ve spend more time playing campaigns and Spartan Ops. But I didn’t.
So off to mm I go. Well, guess what? It’s laggy as balls!! WTF! I thought dedicated servers were supposed to take care of that shit?! I mean, I’m getting shot by people who aren’t facing me, people are jigging all across the map, people are getting dropped offline, a guy in our party last night couldn’t hear Mike but he could hear me halfway through the game, so he left and came back; then he could hear Mike but he couldn’t hear me O.o
Now, I’ll be the first to admit I’m not always the easiest to ease into change (well, I am if it’s AWESOME! lol) so I’m giving it a chance, and it doesn’t feel like an itchy sweater, but it was summed up pretty well on Twitter earlier: it’s just missing something.
And I stand by that “It’s retarded if it’s ‘social’ and you can only party up with 3 people, and you can’t talk to randoms in the tower” statement.
I actually feel like it’s going to kill social gaming, not encourage it. And I’m not afraid to admit that I get the bulk of my after-hours socializing via my gaming habits, so for me that’s not a good thing.
In short, I’m considering going to play Halo tonight, if my experience doesn’t improve.
