Delve Deeper Into Wreckage

wreckage

One of the best parts of the Halo story is that there are endless avenues of detail you can follow to enrich the immersive experience. In this video by Halo Archive, explore the Halo 4 map, Wreckage, and see things you may not have noticed before, learning why such a place exists within the Halo story. It’s actually far more relevant than you might think!

What are The Guardians?

The breaking news for Halo 5 is out: it is called Guardians. What are Guardians in the Halo story you ask? And why does that sound so darn familiar but I can’t picture anything? Well, a quick search resulted in a “duh” moment, and a little info I didn’t know. Of course we’re all familiar with “Killed by The Guardians”…

PAX! 2014

PAX is a veritable smorgasbord of gaming-related experiences, ranging from cosplay, to concerts, to consoles and pc’s, to tabletop gaming. PAX East came and went last weekend, and Halo Diehards member EdieKaye met up with some of our friends for the sensory explosion. PAX started in 2004, when some dudes (Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik) who created a webcomic…

HD Shorts: Too Many Men on the Field + Update

So… the weirdest thing happened last night in Halo 4. We had two in our queue as we joined a 4v4 game of Infinity Slayer, and as the game loaded up one guy from each team left. “Join in Progress” kicks in, but this time, it puts both guys on the same team…

Yves Rossy (Jetman) flying in his jetpack invention

Yves Rossy (Jetman) flying in his jetpack invention

Yves Rossy is a Swiss inventor who flies through the air with the greatest of ease – – in a jetpack!

A backpack with carbon-fiber wings and four jet engines, Rossy’s jetpack is classified as an aircraft by The United States Federal Aviation Administration. Rossy launches off by jumping from a helicoptor or plane, and lands using a parachute, but once he’s in the air, he’s able to fly alongside other aircraft, explore landscapes and even do loop de loops.

Watch how graceful and fun Yves makes piloting his jetpack in the following videos. I haven’t used a jetpack since Halo:REACH, when I switched to bumper-jumper, but maybe someday I’ll get to fly in one irl. A girl can dream, can’t she?

The future is now…

Edit: Looks like there is a jetpack of another variety set to be available to the public “by the end of 2015”: The Martin Jetpack. This one operates more like what we see in video games. You can reserve a Martin with a minimum deposit of $5,000. The target price is around $150,000.

Halo 4 Photographer Spotlight: Azpekt297

It’s great to see the creative visuals artists come up with using Halo screenshots. Today, a screenshot artist brought himself to my attention on Twitter – well, I’d already seen some of his work, I just didn’t realize it was the same guy until I got to looking. He’s also been featured on Waypoint and by 0lah. Keep an eye…
